Hi, I’m Niks. When a kid asks me for Hello Kitty pages, there’s almost always a reason: a birthday party on Saturday, a sleepover, a Christmas card for Grandma. So besides a difficulty rating, every page here has an occasion, and the whole set downloads as one PDF.
Each page belongs to one of five occasions, so you can print the right stack for a party or a holiday. Nothing here is scary. The Hello Kitty coloring pages for Halloween have bats, a witch hat and jack-o’-lanterns, and that’s as spooky as it gets.
| Occasion | What it means | Pages |
|---|---|---|
| Party and treats | Birthdays, sweets, days out | Heart balloon, birthday cupcake, ice cream cone, tea party, birthday cake, boba tea, bakery counter, sweet shop, amusement park |
| Holidays | Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Christmas | Valentine hearts, pumpkin costume, little witch, trick-or-treating, Christmas tree costume, Christmas living room |
| Friends | Kitty’s pals, alone or together | Bunny friend, frog, floppy-eared puppy, puppy in a beret, penguin, picnic, group hug, twin sisters, sleepover, cafe |
| Daydreams | Dress-up and make-believe | Sleeping on a cloud, rainbow, ballerina, astronaut, unicorn, fairy, princess, hot air balloon, mermaid |
| Everyday | Home, school, garden and town | The other 16 pages, from Kitty Waving Hello to Kitty’s Window Reading Nook |
Planning a birthday? The Party and treats row alone gives you nine pages, enough for a whole table of guests to trade.
A chubby kitten in a little dress waves from a grassy line with stars around her. It has 19 big spaces. If you want easy Hello Kitty coloring pages for a preschooler, start here; it’s the one I print most.
Four friends squeeze into one hug: the kitten, the bunny in a hood, the little frog and the floppy-eared puppy. It’s Medium, and all those overlapping ears and arms suit kids aged 6 to 9.
Kitty in an apron holds a lattice apple pie at a kitchen counter, with apples, a mixing bowl and a curtained window. The lattice looks great in two shades of golden brown. My niece colored hers purple. Honestly? I respect it.
Two twin kittens in polka dot dresses hold hands among tulips, daisies and butterflies. Their bows sit on opposite ears, which is how you tell them apart. Give each sister her own dress color and two siblings can share the page.
Kitty in a raincoat stands on a London street with a double-decker bus, a phone box, a clock tower, a lamp post and row houses with window boxes. It’s Detailed (90 spaces), and it’s the one I’d hand a teen who loves travel.
A kitten face sits in the middle of a round mandala of hearts, flowers, bows and petals. With 201 spaces, it’s my pick among the Hello Kitty coloring pages for adults who like slow, repeating patterns.
Go by the child’s age and patience. Easy pages have 15 to 57 spaces, Medium 31 to 117 and Detailed 90 to 217, so each step up is a real jump.
| Age | Try these pages | Why they work |
|---|---|---|
| 3-5 years | Big Kitty Face with Hearts, Kitty Sleeping on a Cloud | One big character, thick lines, only 15 or 16 spaces |
| 6-9 years | Kitty Riding a Unicorn, Ballerina Kitty in a Tutu, Kitty and Friends Group Hug | Small scenes with props, outfits and friends |
| 10+, teens and adults | Kitty’s Sweet Shop, Kitty Face Mandala, Kitty and Friends at the Cafe | 144 to 217 spaces of jars, patterns and tiny shapes |
Eleven pages bring in Kitty’s friends, all our own characters drawn in the same round kawaii style. Four of them get a page to themselves: Little Frog Friend on a Lily Pad, Floppy-Eared Puppy Friend, Chubby Puppy in a Beret and Penguin Friend in a Bow Tie. The bunny in a hood is the most social one. She turns up at the picnic, the group hug, the sleepover, the cafe and trick-or-treating.
My trick: give every friend one signature color and keep it on every page. Pink bunny hood, green frog, blue beret: kids love spotting the same friend from page to page. If the bunny and the frog are the real stars at your house, our animal coloring pages have plenty more critters.
A white kitten vanishes on white paper. Color the background, her dress and her bow, then trace a pale pink or light gray pencil just inside her outline.
Save your boldest color for the bow. Red is classic, hot pink and purple work too. A slightly darker shade near the knot makes it look puffy instead of flat.
A soft circle of pink pencil on each cheek is the fastest kawaii trick I know. Press lightly. A heavy crayon blush looks like a sunburn.
Baby pink, mint, lavender, butter yellow and sky blue all suit this style. Choose four before you start. On Kitty’s Sweet Shop, a small palette keeps 217 spaces from turning into confetti.
Leave a tiny white spot on the apple, the cherries and the strawberry so they look shiny. Color frosting lighter than the cake under it, and give cones and pie crusts two browns.
Chunky crayons for little hands on the Easy pages. Colored pencils for the mandala and the sweet shop. Markers for bright Medium pages, on heavier paper so they don’t bleed.
Our kitten is an original character, but she was inspired by a very famous one. A few facts for the coloring table:
Last spring I brought a stack of these to a friend’s Hello Kitty birthday party. Twelve kids colored for half an hour straight, which at a party is close to a miracle. Here’s what works there and in class:
Teachers, our free classroom license spells out what you can print.
These Hello Kitty coloring pages are original ColorTheDay designs, not copies of Sanrio’s artwork. I look over every page before it goes live. The outlines have to be bold and closed, the Easy pages have to work for a three-year-old, and each title has to match what’s actually drawn. The difficulty ratings and occasions are my own calls, and the “spaces to color” numbers are counted from each page, not guessed.

Yes, all 50 Hello Kitty coloring pages are free. No account, no email. Print them as often as you like for your kids, your class or a party. I only ask that you don’t sell them or post the PDF files on another website.
No. Every page shows our own original kawaii kitten with a big bow, round eyes and a little smile, plus her own friends. She’s inspired by Hello Kitty, but she isn’t a copy of Sanrio’s artwork, and ColorTheDay has no connection to Sanrio. That’s also why our kitty has a mouth.
Any of the 18 Easy pages. Big Kitty Face with Hearts has just 15 spaces to color and Kitty Sleeping on a Cloud has 16, so both work with chunky crayons and short attention spans. Kitty Holding a Big Apple (17 spaces) is a good next step.
Yes. The 14 Detailed pages have 90 to 217 spaces each and suit teens and grown-ups. My picks for an evening with colored pencils are Kitty’s Sweet Shop, the Kitty Face Mandala, Kitty’s Bakery Counter, Kitty on a London Street and Mermaid Kitty Under the Sea.
You can. The “Download all 50 pages” button gives you one PDF, already sorted from Easy to Detailed. Print it single-sided, let your child draw a cover and staple the left edge. Want a shorter book for a little one? Print pages 1 to 18, the Easy ones.
Please do. Classroom and homeschool use is free, so print one sheet per student or keep a stack at the early-finisher table. Just don’t resell the pages or upload the files somewhere else. The license page explains exactly what’s allowed.
Pick a page and tap its “Download PDF” button, or grab every page at once with “Download all 50 pages”. Open the PDF, hit Print and choose “Fit to page” or 100%. Each sheet is US Letter (8.5 × 11 inches) with a wide margin, so A4 works too.
